The HeadStart Fellowship runs two cohorts each year in the Spring and Fall semesters. The program is entirely virtual. Fellows participate in weekly general education sessions, bi-weekly vertical training sessions, and opportunities throughout the semester to speak with industry professionals, network with corporate partners, and connect with other community members
General Education sessions are weekly meetings focused on professional training and development of essential skill sets in the business world, including problem-solving, resume/cover letter best practices, and networking
Vertical specific sessions are hosted bi-weekly and provide unique insight and technical training into specific careers available in each vertical. Upon acceptance into the program, fellows choose which vertical they want to focus on
HeadStart hosts a variety of information sessions and networking opportunities with our corporate sponsors throughout the semester to ensure that our members are exposed to a broad range of firms and industries
Small group sessions are very casual networking opportunities that allow for members to get a greater understanding of how our professional partners have gone about their lives. Topics can range from life during undergrad to working in corporate America and many more
Mentees are paired with a mentor in the same vertical. Mentors provide career guidance and help mentees with deliverables that coincide with topics taught in general education sessions. Mentorship also allow for fellows to connect with the HeadStart community
Speaker Series lectures are delivered by industry trailblazers, ranging from entrepreneurs to corporate leaders. These events hosted by HeadStart provide insight into multiple perspectives gained from years of experience. Previously, we've had the honor of hosting Yemi Okupe, CFO of Hims & Hers, and many other amazing executives
Upon successful completion of the program, fellows will:
